After gaining a degree in Business Studies, Tony began his commercial career in sales and marketing, further progressing to sales and operation planning in a well-known international consumer goods company. Here he managed the demand and production planning of four internationally based sites, in a high volume and very fast-moving environment.
Tony then decided to peruse a post-graduate course in Operations Research and joined Purcon in 1987 as a consultant. After joining, he rose through the ranks rapidly to senior and subsequently managing consultant. Following this he was invited to join the Board taking added responsibility for marketing. With retirement for the existing management looming, he launched a successful MBO of the business in 1996.
Tony values above all his employees, who have been enlisted from both recruit-ment and functional backgrounds, to ensure a deep knowledge and understanding of the specialism. With an average tenure of 5 years, the team is a testament to the loyalty and commitment displayed within Purcon - unusual in a fast moving, competitive recruitment environment. This is driven by Tony's management style that empowers and encourages individuals to build effective networks amongst the most talented procurement and supply chain experts.
Undoubtedly, his unswerving customer service, focus on consultant integrity and mutually profitable relationships still runs through the core of Purcon and all of its consultants as it surpasses its 40th year of operation.
